ROSTRA is East India's Largest Literary Fest conducted by the Literary Society, BIT Mesra in Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. The core of the festival resides in bringing out the various forms of literature and showcasing its soul to the most veracious essence. It is a platform for literature enthusiasts, writers, orators, artists, and all those who bear the idea of doing something great.

ROSTRA is a three-day fest filled with enthralling events, interactive sessions, and fun games. The three days-Primum, Medius, and Ultimus bring exciting events and performances from famous and recognized personalities while the nights are full of enticing performances.
The fest witnessed participants from BIT and all its branches, NIT’s, IIT’s, MNIT, KIIT, and different colleges in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, and other colleges all over Jharkhand. Team ROSTRA also invites students from different schools in Ranchi to take part in the fest. ROSTRA witnessed a footfall of 3000 last year and we aim to make ROSTRA great again.



Democracy, apart from being a display of the power of the people, is also one of their virtues. The ability to make decisions for the greater good, and have faith in them. The Parliament of India is the cornerstone of democracy in the country.  So come and step into the shoes of the legislators, and join us in the simulation of the “Westminster” model of Government.
  1. Both single and double representation is allowed.
  2. The session of parliament will take place for 2 days.
  3. Participants will be provided with their respective portfolios, which they have to emulate.
  4. After the opening address by the honorable President, the Speaker will continue with the proceedings of the house, which shall include the Question hour, Debate, and Discussion, among other matters. You shall be a representative of the portfolio allotted, and that should reflect in your stances in the house.
  5. At the end of the session, THE HOUSE WILL STAND ADJOURNED SINE DIE.
  6. Honourable members are advised to practice parliamentary politics with immense patience, decency, and courtesy.
The organizing team has all the rights to make any changes to the above mentioned rules.

You have now lost count of the going-out plans you canceled just so you could finish another chapter of that goddamn thriller. Daydreaming about how could Sherlock possibly fake his death? to shedding those out of nowhere tears for poor hazel giving her eulogy for Augustus, there isn't a place left now where you have not zoned out. If this context defines your life story then my mate we got some good news for you.

𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮'𝟮𝟭 is here to cater to your wits a mind-boggling, somewhat stupefying deduction-based event 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿-𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱, wherein you will eventually have to put your little grey cells to test and manifest signs of a voracious reader. 

The event comprises 2 rounds. 
Round 1: 
This is the elimination round where each participant will be given a set of facts related to a particular literary work and are expected to bifurcate the facts and subsequently list the correct ones but only participants with maximum correct answers in minimum possible duration will be selected for the next round. 

Round 2:
As the name suggests this round will be the deduction round wherein participants will get three different sets of situations formulated with the help of graphics, some famous TV characters, and plots taken from popular literary works in varied genres with an intriguing twist. 


Do you possess an unabating ardour for reflecting your perspectives on a vexed topic? Can you muster immaculate eloquence while reading and improvising a piece of text impromptu? Do you have the yen to concoct and report on a quirky topic that would tickle the funny bone of the multitude? If any of it infuses an inexorable fervour in you, you'd be glad to know that we've in store for you an event that's a conglomeration of the above attributes.

Amidst a plethora of riveting events, our literary extravaganza, 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮'𝟮𝟭 brings to you 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, an enthralling event that's going to get your adrenaline pumping and render you a rostrum for presenting and defending your opinions. 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 is a two round event, where round one would test the proficiency of the participants over the language and their inherent creativity. Round two would witness a battle of the four finalists testing their mastery of the pulpit. 

So, giddy up! And bring forth your A-game to engage in this battle of wits.

1. Each participant will be allowed 3 minutes for speaking.

2. Languages permitted are English and Hindi.

3. Obscene content is not acceptable and will be disqualified immediately.

4. The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on all candidates.

An event where words speak louder than actions and aficionados do not wage war to attain peace.

Literati Combat comprises of two battles, the first being the war of your knowledge, and the second-the battle of your skills and wit. So come and vanquish the realm of jingled ballads and verses to win the war of the literatus on 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵.

𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮'𝟮𝟭 brings you वाक्- युद्ध the battle of rhyme, rhythm and imagination.
This competition includes two rounds- first one being the elimination round wherein the participants will be given a topic and they will have to compose a hindi poem on the spot. The second round will be a poetic battle with the participants having a face-off.

Both the rounds will be conducted at G-meet on 28th March, 2021.
